At present, we do not support the creation of orders in Square from the Intercom Inbox. The technical reasons for this are as follows:

  • Square orders require a valid and attached payment source e.g. Credit Card, and it is not possible to create these via the Square API or Intercom
  • Square requires line items in the order and Intercom does not currently offer a good experience for Intercom users to add items to an order.

Overall, Highways believes a best experience for both you and your team to create orders is the use of traditional checkout flows in Square.
